English Week: Cultures Around the World – A Huge Success!
Our recent English Week, celebrated with the theme ‘Cultures Around the World’, was a vibrant exploration of diverse cultures. Students participated in a variety of exciting activities that not only enhanced their language skills but also introduced them to different cultural traditions and practices from around the globe.
Event Highlights:
  • Tart Tour: A delicious exploration of tarts from various cultures, where students learned about the unique flavors in different countries.
  • Inter-house Cultural Quiz in the assembly: Teams competed in an exciting quiz, testing their knowledge about world cultures.
  • Carnival of Games: The carnival was full of thrilling games, and students had the chance to win amazing prizes.
  • Ambassador Outing - Culture Detective Walk: Students joined a guided walk, discovering cultural landmarks and their significance in Yau Ma Tei.
  • Crème Brûlée Workshop: Students learned how to make this iconic French dessert, adding a sweet touch to the week’s activities.
  • Morning Reading Session: Students were provided with engaging texts highlighting different cultures, giving them the opportunity to explore unique traditions and perspectives while enhancing their reading and language skills.
  • English Morning Broadcast Programmes
  • English ins祂gram: The regular Christian Education Committee programme conducted entirely in English to encourage meaningful language use.
  • English on Airwaves – Superstitions: A fascinating video exploring how superstitions influence language and traditions worldwide.
  • Two-minute English: A short, student-produced video introducing useful culture-related vocabulary and idioms.
Alongside the main events, students enjoyed additional fun opportunities such as completing game sheets in Google Form format and even chatting with the principal for a chance to win tasty snacks. These activities added a playful and engaging dimension to the week, making English Week even more memorable. 
A big thank you goes out to the teachers who helped prepare and organize such a fantastic event. Their dedication and support made this week possible. Also, we would like to express our gratitude to all the students who participated with enthusiasm and creativity, making English Week an unforgettable success. We look forward to more exciting events in the future!
